Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Banff Springs in the Canadian Rockies

The Fairmont Banff Springs is an icon of Alberta Canada’s Banff National Park. The Fairmont was constructed in 1888 and was remodeled in 1928 to resemble a castle. The property sits high above the town of Banff surrounded by pine forests with the Bow River below. The best way to experience this landmark is by enjoying Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Banff Springs. You are greeted by a live harpist and a grand marble staircase when you enter the lobby. The Fairmont truly is the Castle of the Rockies.

The tea sommelier presents a wooden cart of glass jars full of refined teas from throughout the world. Each variety of tea is explained while being passed around for guests to smell.  The tea arrives in silver pots and is presented with honey, milk, and lemon. The first cup is poured tableside through a silver strainer. Next, you are served with an Aperitif of Fresh Berries to cleanse your palate and stimulate the appetite while the tea is steeping.
