Honolulu’s industrial district of Kakaako has become an outdoor museum thanks to the Pow Wow Festival. Pow Wow is an urban art collective that promotes culture, music and art. International artists are invited to Honolulu to work along side local artists for a week long event in Honolulu every February. The murals created have rejuvenated the once forgotten Kakaako District into an artist community and developers have noticed. This urban renewal has brought cafes, microbreweries, farmer’s markets and monthly street fairs to the area. Honolulu is a place of insanely beautiful beaches, sunsets, waterfalls and rain forests, but, if you’re craving a little bit of grit, head to Kakaako and check out Honolulu’s street art scene!
