I didn’t regret that in some 50 minutes and from Vienna you find yourself in a completely different city, the capital of Slovakia with such an atmospheric center, but rather small, you will go around several times in an hour, and try to avoid tourist groups, it might make sense to come to 3 4 o’clock.
I took an Uber taxi from the railway station, the application works, it took about 10 minutes, I paid 3.5 euros – almost free). I recommend. The taxi will take you to the Mikhailovskie Gates, from where it is convenient to explore the Old Town.

Bratislava looks beautiful! We really love to explore these towns that have so much history, old buildings and especially castles!! I would be interested to see what does Slovak food look and taste like. I have no clue. I hope to visit myself someday and see what Bratislava is all about.

This is a timely post as we are planning this area for next year. There is so much to do that it helps us plan maybe even spending 4 days there. The Bratislava Card looks the way to go. I am a great fan of castles, history and great food. I can’t wait to visit, thanks for the tips.

Wow you did so many beautiful things that too in 24 hours. I would really need more time here as this Bratislava looks stunning. Židovská Street. Photographing the House of the Good Shepard and the city wall really looks good way to start the day. Walking up the hill to the Bratislava Castle to capture the terrace view of the city must be the great thing to do here. Thanks for sharing a wonderful itinerary.

Your post touched our hearts. We had chalked out an East Europe itinerary last year but had to put it on the back burner. Bratislava was one of the places that we planned to cover after Prague and before heading to Budapest and onward to Vienna. Nice to read about this charming town that seems straight out of a fairy tale, castles et all! Also some really useful tips to plan a day in the town.
