Menton, France, is on the French Riviera at the border with Italy. It is located between the Mediterranean Sea and Alps . Menton is called the Pearl of France and is famous for its lemon groves. You will find narrow winding streets of shuttered villas with terracotta roofs, beaches, palm trees, lemon gardens, pasta, and gelato. I have no regrets taking a day trip to Menton France!

How to Get to Menton France
Begin your day taking the train from your home base to the Menton Central Station. The regional TER trains run regularly between Nice and Menton. If you are following my French Riviera itinerary, the station is Menton-Ville and the train ride will be 40 minutes. Tickets can be purchased online or at the station. Sales close 30 minutes before departure. Sit on the right side for the best views during the ride.

How to Get Around Menton France
It is a 15-20 minute walk from the Menton train station to the old town and the beaches. Alternatively, take the free La Navette shuttle from the train station to Musee du Bastion and begin exploring there. Shuttles run every 20 minutes. Start your day early; there is a lot to see and do.
