Emerald Forest is gorgeous! Perfect for a cheeky meditative walk/hike, I could seriously get lost in the woods for days. Love that it is paved too, means that people won’t as easily destroy the natural landscape as they have a path to stick too.

Emerald Forest is such an apt name for Muir Woods. Being in the deep dark greens is such a refreshing experience. You mentioned that there are signs to encourage silence. Can’t imagine people making a racket in such an environment.

The Emerald Forest looks like a really great place for a relaxing walk or hike. I really like how they paved a lot of it and built in steps to make walking it easier, that is something that they do not do here in Scotland.

How amazing is this? I have been to Redwoods National Park, but not the Muir Woods. I would love to though. The Redwoods were incredible and I have so much respect for John Muir as a naturalist. This seems like the perfect homage to him. Good to know that the roads are narrow – thanks for the warning!

Muir Woods is such a treasure. The redwoods are so impressive. We did the Canopy Trail on our last visit.

I seriously can’t wrap my head around 700 year old trees, much less 2200 year old ones! It always makes me think of all the things those trees would have seen if they’d been around people that whole time. Thank you so much for sharing your gorgeous photos and your story!
