The Petrified Forest in a lesser known national park compared to some of the other nearby giants like the Grand Canyon. Its crazy to think that it was once a rainforest where dinosaurs roamed. How the world has changed! Thanks for putting this park on my radar.

225 million years? That sounds absolutely amazing. I have never been to Arizona till date but I want to some day. And I will definitely make sure to visit Petrified Forest National Park. The colours look stunning and the walks in the national park are something that I will surely do.

Such amazing colors in the Petrified Forest National Park. I have not traveled for an extended period of time in the US and have never been to Arizona. But I am toying with the idea of a road trip and Arizona would definitely be on the route! The blue messa rock formation looks stunning!

Petrified forests reminds me of Harry Potter. I expected to see those hollow trees that freeze – ha ha . However, now that I have seen your pics, I realize why this part is called so. Such amazing textures and natural artwork. Would definitely love to explore the place and photograph the place.

I have not been to this part of the USA. Those colors and shapes of the hills and rocks look stunning! I would love to do the painted desert rim trail and the Blue Mesa Scenic Road drive. It looks magical. Marking your blog for my future visit. 🙂

It’s interesting to know that the park was a rainforest 200 million years ago and it has over 100s of fossils from the Late Triassic Period. I’d love to do some hiking and then having a picnic there. The idea of driving the Blue Mesa Scenic Road for photos is also intriguing.
