I love French gardens, perfectly manicured and laid out beautifully. A little sad though, the story of Queen D. Maria and her being confined in the state rooms. Quite an exotic and luxurious place to be confined in though!

Small fee, we didn’t stay long and stopped on the way to Sintra. I didn’t time us but likely a little over an hour. Could easily have spent a half day exploring to grounds and having lunch
