I saw a little bit of Route 66 near Chicago but it would be great to see other cities on this historic route. I loved the colorful art at Flagstaff Arizona. Little Painted Desert is really photogenic and looks wonderful. All attractions on these route look rustic.

Beautiful pictures! I have read so much about the route 66 and a road trip there looks like so much fun! I like it that you there are cultural as well as natural highlights. Of course I would visit Grand Canyon but the Painted Desert looks amazing too. I would also spent a day walking the Petrified Forest National Park.

I didn’t realize that Grand Canyon is part of Route 66. It means I’ve been to two stops in Arizona, beside Petrified Forest NP. We spent a night at Holbrook on the way to the Grand Canyon, but at that time I wasn’t into Route 66 yet, so I didn’t make any effort to visit them.

My definite picks on Route 66 would be the Grand Canyon (duh?!), the Winslow for the corner made famous by the Eagles hit and the world’s smallest church woah, the painted desert (stunning, reminds me of Ladakh), and the Petrified forests!!

Route 66 sounds amazing with lots of things to do and see. I’d love to see the historic hotels, neon signs and abandoned gas stations.. I wouldn’t miss the Little Painted Desert, Petrified Forest and the Grand Canyon. Seeing the teepees at Wigwam Village is on my bucket list too.
