Exploring the Montreal Canada Street Art Scene

Montreal Canada is a gorgeous city known for museums, art installations, and street art. The rainbow balls exhibit along Rue Sainte-Catherine, the brightly painted facades along Rue Saint-Denis and the street art scattered on the sides of buildings, parking lots, alleys and storefronts fill the city with color. Montreal hosts a yearly Mural Festival attracting international artists and millions of visitors for 10 days of fun. D*Face, Ron English, Omen, SbuOne, Jason Botkin, and local artist Miss Me have all participated in revitalizing the Saint Laurent Boulevard area with 80+ murals. Murals, stickers, decals, and wheat pasting are throughout the city. There are a lot of great things to do in Montreal Canada, be sure to spend some time exploring Montreal’s street art.

Exploring Montreal Canada’s Street Art Scene

Start your morning in Mile End. Grab a coffee and bagel from St-Viateur Bagels and explore the art along Saint-Viateur Street and Mount Royal Avenue before moving on to the Plateau neighborhood.  Wander along Saint-Laurent Boulevard to view the largest collection of murals. Eat a famous smoked meat sandwich at Schwartz for lunch. Be sure to stop in Station 16 and view the exhibition before moving on to Crescent Street. The 20 stories high mural of Leonard Cohen on Crescent Street is not to be missed. Spend some time at the nearby Montreal Museum of Fine Arts if time permits and have a cocktail at Sir Winston Churchill Pub. If you prefer a more organized tour of Montreal Canada’s street art, follow the route on this map from Wall2Wall.
