Sonoma County is a well-known Northern California wine region with 60,000 acres of vineyards that span from the Pacific Coast to the Mayacamas Mountains. Sonoma County wineries are 2 hours north of San Francisco. The best-known wine regions in Sonoma wine country are Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Route 116, Russian River Valley, Chalk Hill, and Sonoma Valley.
